My Dog Loves It
My dog is VERY picky. I usually put his food out in the morning and he doesn’t eat till I get back from work. Not with Nulo, he eats it right away. It’s stinky and small – just like he likes it. I initially had to mix it with rice because he was throwing up, but he’s got a very sensitive stomach and it took him a little while to get used to it. All good now. He loves it.

My toy poodle likes this!
Smells fishy – grateful for the zip-lock bag closure. My toy poodle eats dry dog food only when she’s truly hungry, but went for this and ate it completely from the very first time it was offered to her. She dug out every morsel of this food and continued to ignore the dry dog food from her previous, different supplier.

Great quality and service, but NOT “small breed” kibble size
The last two bags we received (Dec 2018) contained larger kibble than what we had been receiving. It was NOT tiny… it was same as regular size food and our dogs would not eat it. We contacted the company and their customer service was excellent. They told us there might be some slight variations and refunded our money. We had some kibble left from an older bag and found the change significant – 2 to 3 times larger. Regardless, the bottom line for us is it doesn’t work anymore because our pups won’t eat the larger bites.

Quality and taste for picky eaters
My Maltese is a very picky eater and the only thing she would eat before is NUTRO ULTRA Adult Weight Management High Protein Natural Small Breed Dry Dog Food or Old Mother Hubbard dog biscuits and Greenies. She stopped eating the former after a few bags, so I needed a new brand and she ate this within 10 minutes of me putting it down for her! Good stuff!

A convert
I’ve used another named brand to mix with the wet food for a few years. My rescue Shepherd is a super picky eater, so we cannot mix more than a handful with the wet food. Sometimes she manages to eat the wet food and spit out the dry food. The dry food has the nutrients, so I want her to eat that food! So far, she hasn’t spit out or puked up any of this. So, this might not be worth the money for you, but it is for me!!!! I don’t want to pretend that she would eat this without the canned food, because she won’t, but she does eat this.

He loves it!
Amy Bichon is a senior. He is 14 but a very playful and energetic boy still! He is a very fussy eater and I can’t tell you how many different brands of dog food we have tried. I opened the bag when it arrived and took out a few pieces and he “woofed” it down!!! I fed him this in the morning with a little of wet food alongside because that’s how we have always had to get him to eat. Normally he will eat the wet food and then his dry. Not this time. He went straight for the dry food and ate it all first. I hope this helps with his allergies. I am just so happy he likes the taste!

My Yorkie is not a fan
Yorkies are infamous for being picky eaters. Upon reading reviews about this food I thought I’d give it a try. He seemed to like the flavor, so I thought win win. However, I slowly mixed it in with his food but no matter how little I give him it gases him and eventually gives him diarrhea 😫 unfortunately not a fit for my little guy.

Not ideal for your small breed.
My morkie liked it but got yelled at by our veterinary friend that this is boutique food and not ideal. Studies have shown that small breeds develop pericarditis from eating these kinds of foods.

picky dogs somewhat less picky with this food
I’ve been trying to find the right food for my picky eater chihuahua and this one seems to be ok with her. She doesn’t gobble it up like home cooked food or the old Nature Valley’s Protein small breed, but she’s more willing to eat this one than Merricks or Instincts raw kibble. What I like about this versus Merrick (my old go to), is both my dogs’s stool doesn’t smell too bad and are quite firm. Merrick was great for my chihuahua, but makes my poodle’s poop pretty soft/leave lots of residue, and smell like burnt tire. I compare this Nulo to Merrick as they seem to have similar stats and beneficial bacterial culture. This Nulo small breed version (different from the Petsmart small breed, why) seems to agree with both their tummies. Poops are solid and not too strong smelling, dog energy levels normal, food doesn’t smell too strong of anything and is a perfect hardness. Sometimes small breed dog food is super crunchy/hard to the point dogs have a hard time chewing over and over, but this one with the triangular shape seems to lend itself to be a little less hard and compact.I wish this one was available in pet stores as I don’t want to pay +$5-10 more for a different small breed version that may possibly not be as agreeable with my dogs. Currently have this on subscribe 1-2 month per 1 bag.

Good choice
So I had to do intensive research to find another dog food because the vet informed me that the reason my dog is so itchy and licking his paws is a possible food allergy. I was prompted to find another flavor besides chicken because this is very common in dogs. Sucks because its my dog favorite flavor. Anyway after days of looking I found this brand. And got Salmon and lentils. The size of the kibble is not too bad but is you have a puppy it may be a problem. My dog ate it just fine. I was happy he liked it cause he is a picky eater. He wanted to try it as soon as it came in. He seems happy so I hope this is the solution to the excessive scratching. I will say this food is not cheap for the size of the bag. I’ll see how long it last and make an update.

Finally!!!
My dog Sebastian has a very sensitive stomach. He has gastritis, acid reflux and would throw up yellow bile. This would happen in spurts. I put him on a special dog food and he takes an acid reducer pill every morning. He still was having issues although it wasn’t as often. One day I came across this dog food while surfing Amazon and after reading some reviews I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. Sebastian absolutely loves the food. I absolutely love that his breath smells so much better. He has more energy. No signs of stomach issues and he is on his 2nd bag. He is like a different dog in a positive way! So glad I found this!

The dog’s favorite
For our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, she really likes this stuff more than any of the other 4 types of dog food we have tried. It is small bite size and crunchy. She especially likes us to place it in her “food ball” so when she rolls the ball around on the floor with her nose, some of the bits fall out for her to eat. Fun playing with the ball and eating.

bags are constantly ripped
I have gotten this 4 times and 3 times the bag has cuts in it and food is coming out. It’s too expensive for that – I want to know it’s fresh and nothing has been put inside. My dog likes it okay. I like that it’s small kibbles.

BEST OF ALL THE MAJOR GRAIN-FREE BRANDS
My dog is a small Manchester Terrier. She is black and shed hair for three years. It was so bad that numerous trips to the vet and trying every thing or food they suggested, nothing worked. When I switched to Nulo, she quit shedding within two weeks. She’s had a year, free of losing hair and is healthier than ever. Thank you!

Perfect for my little dog
My dog is getting older and is missing a lot of teeth. He started eating the kittens food instead of his own which kept making him sick. I figured it was because of the size. The kitten food is much smaller. Received the dog food yesterday and he loves it. It’s tiny kibble like the kittens have. He loved it. He’s very friendly with the kittens but for the first time he growled at them when they tried to get his food. Must be delicious!

Great dog food, suggest grain inclusive food
My dog loves this food. I’ve been feeding it to him since he was a puppy and he’s now 2 years old. He’s a mutt from the pound. He had his 2 year check up yesterday and has developed a significant heart murmur. Based on new FDA statements, my vet is worried the grain free food may have played a role in this cardiac development. We have to go through more testing but vet suggested we add grain immediately. We loved this food and so I did some research and Nulo is about to release a high meat, with grain food line called Frontrunner. I wrote this review to say that while I felt the FDA statement was just a warning and a little presumptive, my otherwise healthy 2 year old mutt has developed a heart condition. So if something as simple as adding grain to a dog’s diet could even maybe prevent this in other dogs, it might be worth considering a switch to the new Nulo food lines.

We have a tiny (9lb) maltipoo who is a very picky eater. She LOVES this food. She finally put some weight back on and she’s had SO much more energy since we switched to this food. Cannot recommend it enough.Only down side is that it gives her pretty bad breath if we don’t stay on top of giving her greenies along side it.

Quality food but the kibble is not small
I have two yorkies, 6 lbs and 8 lbs different adult ages with different needs. So finding quality dog food specific to their sensitive tummies and requirements is not easy. I had them on a different well known high quality brand for years but the formula recently changed and gave them really bad digestive problems. I tried another quality dog food before this and it really upset their stomachs to the point that I had to have them on a chicken and rice bland diet for nearly a month. Weening them off cooked food onto this took about two and a half weeks and they seem to be doing okay with it. Reason for 4 stars is the size of the kibble, my 8lb can eat it up easily but the 6lb dog has a tough time with it because it’s a big piece of kibble compared to other small breed foods. I think if he were any smaller (less than 6lbs) he would not eat it because it would be too hard to chew for him. Overall, I think this is a good choice of food than a lot of the bigger brands out there. I thought it was cute my dog looks like the dog on the bag!

She ate it right away. Yet the next day didn’t touch it. I don’t know what to think. I’m hoping she goes back to eat. She is eating it every day now and likes it. I put a few drops of fish oil on top and spray whip cream on it every once in awhile. She 4 years old now and only eats this one dog food. The first couple of years I tried all kinds of dog food. But we stayed with this one.

My dogs love this food! I think it smells good. Smells like it’s supposed to. Small triangle kibble that’s easy for them to chew and always consistent and I think a good product overall. I get from Amazon and chewy depending on where it’s been cheaper as prices keep going up (like everything else).

For awhile I used a dog food and my dogs kept eating their poo. Apparently the food they were eating didn’t digest well so to them it seemed like dog food. Just awful. So, I switched to this dog food. This digests well so my dogs no longer eat their poo.

Great Smelling Dog Food Sved My German Sheppard.
The food smells good when you open the can. I was having problems keeping the weight on my dog. Because of the contents quality with no fillers or grains, there were not any fillers so everything’ she consumed went to her needs. She was able to reach her desired weight she is maintaining. She is very active and prior to eating this excellent canned Dog Food she hangs on to her weight and her coat is sleek and healthy. I would recommend this Dog food to anyone .

Everything about this is good except the bag closure. I wish this had a velcro closure like my last dog food for a secure , tight fit. Dog seems to like it fine and it is easy enough to eat. This is what I will keep my pet on just hoping they look at a change with the closing of product, right now they are using one of those lines that you line up and press.

Excellent product
We have two JRTs, both adopted from a rescue group. Jack, our male, has severe allergies. We tried so many different brands and even started making their food and supplementing with the name brands. Despite our efforts, Jack ended up in the hospital twice due to vomiting. He was on meds and going to the vet too often. We tried Nulo and within three days he was a completely different dog. His rash was just about gone, no vomiting and he was like a puppy. His energy level was that of a typical Jack Russel. I seriously cannot say enough good about this product. Yes, it may cost a bit more but it’s cheaper than vet bills and he is off all allergy medicine now. I would highly recommend this product!

Great Quality and Freshness
I searched diligently for the best dog food out there for my two Chihuahuas, and I have tried a lot of brands. This brand is one of the best. You can tell right away from the scent–it smells very fresh, and like human food. One of my dogs is not fond of this flavor, but the other one loves it. I mix it with a less expensive brand for the one that does not care for the flavor, and it works well for her. No stomach upset or allergies either, which can be issues with little dogs.

My dog loves it
I adopted a rescue chihuahua that shelters dubbed ‘unadoptable’. She was aggressive and grumpy, and fearful. Basically a grumpy cat. I switched to grain-free dog food after talking to a veterinary nutritionist. It’s really helped her temperament overall. After trying a number of different grain-free diets, I’ve stuck with the Nulo Salmon and red lentils recipe. My chihuahua hasn’t gotten tired of it yet, which was the case with other diets. I constantly get compliments on how soft her fur is too. It’s the food. As soon as I take her off, her fur loses the silky smooth feeling that she gets while on this food.

Quite a journey to get to this food. I have a Yorkie and Maltipoo who both eat this. They had experienced allergies and I was looking to eliminate chicken and grains. They both like it and eat it without problems. I even talked to an employee at a local Kriser’s pet store and he spoke highly of it. Sticking with it for my girls! Yes, it’s more expensive than food from Walmart, but I like the fact I’m giving them quality.

The only dry food my Maltese will eat.
I have a very picky dog, so I went to a local pet supply store and picked up a bunch of samples from all the top quality dry food sellers. This is the only thing she would eat. Still eating it after 5 years.

picky dogs somewhat less picky with this food

My pups really like Nulo small breed salmon dog food
My pups seem to really like this dog food. I had never heard of it before and at our local pups and pints event one of the vets was giving out samples. Mine really liked it, so I’ve been feeding it to them for about 6 months now.

Major energy boost!

Possibility

Digests really well – huge relief!

I like that it is made in the Midwest

Great food!
